I joined GDC on 1st of July, 2013. My experience has been educational, humbling, inspiring and Impactful. It has been delightful to experience the magical work of our hands; to see the impact of our work and to witness the result of our combined engineering and scientific works.
What are your expectations for GDC?
Besides GDC being a home for green energy for Kenya, GDC houses a highly technical, competent, innovative and smart pool of assorted geothermal professionals who are all geared towards the same goal of delivering GDC’s mandate.
I hope to see GDC as the preferred drilling company in Africa and the preferred geothermal training school in Africa, for Africa, by Africa, with the help of our partners local and abroad.
How important is your contribution towards achieving GDC objectives and goals?
I design and supervise drilling of geothermal wells to the target depth while ensuring safety of our crew and equipment, conservation of environment and high quality standards for our work.
What are some of the lessons you have learned?
One of the lessons I learnt during her time with GDC is the significance of teamwork. This, is at the heart of great achievements. In the words of Ken Blanchard, none of us is as smart as all of us.
Your message to women as we prepare to celebrate International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is geared towards forging a gender equal world. We celebrate women’s achievement, increasing visibility while calling out inequality. This year the theme for #IWD2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. I choose to challenge gender stereotypes and bias. I choose to call out gendered actions and assumptions. Dear Women and Girls; you are enough. You can. You will. Your success awaits. Start now. Do not be afraid to ask for help, I am here, we are here.
And remember, no dream is too big for you to achieve.
