GDC Team

#GDCTeam Beatrice Mudibo

Area of expertise

My job entails measuring and determining property boundaries. I provide data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features used for the construction of project access roads and infrastructure, map making, and the land evaluation process.

My contribution to the achievement of GDC mandate

I carry out detailed spatial data acquisition during Geoscientific surface exploration of geothermal fields.

I am involved in the facilitation of company land acquisition and make follow-ups with the Ministry of Lands. I search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to survey. I also plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.

My STEM inspiration

My mother is my inspiration and is one of a kind. She reminded my siblings and me about one successful woman in our village, namely Hon Julia Ojiambo. In the late ’80s, while she was a Research Assistant in Mulago Hospital in Kampala, she distributed rich protein biscuits used in the treatment of kwashiorkor in infantile malnutrition. She is my torch on the hill. She challenged many women in my village to fight for equity across all aspects of society.
