Geothermometry is the science of predicting the temperature or range of temperatures at which geological material (mineral and fluid) was formed. In geothermal geochemistry, it is a form of formula, a mathematical relationship between reservoir fluid composition and temperature, that yields the temperature of the geothermal reservoir as a function of the discharge fluid chemistry.
