Mr. Stephen Busieney

Mr. Stephen Busieney has over 15 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting. Prior to joining GDC, he was the Chief Financial Officer for CIMERWA Cement Company Limited, Rwanda.

Mr. Calvin Nyachoti

Company Secretary & General Manager, Legal Services

Mr. Calvin Nyachoti is an accomplished legal and corporate governance practitioner with over 17 years of leadership experience across Kenya’s public and private sectors, as well as internationally. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS[K]), with deep expertise in corporate governance, pensions regulation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.

He has held senior legal and governance roles at Kenyatta National Hospital, the Retirement Benefits Authority, and in private legal practice, where he strengthened institutional governance frameworks and enhanced compliance systems. Mr. Nyachoti currently chairs and serves on several corporate and institutional boards and previously served as Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya Branch).

He holds a Master of Laws (LLM), an MBA in Strategic Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (KSL), and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), complemented by specialized training in international law, leadership, and team development.

Mrs. Irene Onyambu

General Manager, Corporate Services

Mrs. Irene Onyambu has over 20 years’ experience in Administration and Human Resource Management. Prior to her appointment, she was the Regional Manager for GDC’s South Rift Region. She is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).

Dr. George Muia

General Manager, Business Development

Ag. GM, Strategy & Planning

Dr. George Muia is a registered professional geologist with over 15 years in the Energy sector. His expertise is in strategy and business development in extractive industries. Dr. Muia also has extensive experience in renewable energy project management and resource mobilization.

Eng. Reuben Ngosi

General Manager, Drilling & Infrastructure

Ag. Manager, Central Rift Region

Eng. Reuben Ngosi, PE MIEK, is a distinguished mechanical engineer, a seasoned project manager, and a renowned Geothermal Expert with 18 years of extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. His expertise spans 14 years in developing and managing geothermal energy projects in Kenya, positioning him as a key figure in the industry.

Eng. Martha Mburu

Ag. General Manager, Geothermal Resource Development

Eng. Martha Mburu, a professional Engineer (EBK), Member of IEK, is a Mechanical Engineer. She is a renown Geothermal and Renewable Energy expert with over 20 years experience in the geothermal energy sector. Her specialty is in Geothermal Direct-Use, Geothermal Reservoir Management and evaluation of Renewable energy projects.

Mr. John Lagat

Regional Manager, North Rift Region

Mr. John Lagat (R. Geol.) is the Regional Manager, North Rift. Mr. Lagat has a wealth of experience in Geothermal Technology spanning 32 years. He is a seasoned Geologist with extensive knowledge in Geothermal Technology, having ascended from Trainee Geologist in KenGen, Olkaria, having risen through the ranks in various Managerial positions his current post of Regional Manager, North Rift. Mr. Lagat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Geology degree from the University of Iceland, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Technology from the United Nations University, Iceland. He has undertaken several short courses on Geothermal Technology, Project Management, and Supervisory and Leadership courses, including the Strategic Leadership Development Programme. He is a Registered Geologist, a member of the Geological Society of Kenya, and a member of the Geothermal Association of Kenya. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications.

Ms. Agnes Muthengi

Regional Manager, South Rift Region

Ms. Agnes Muthengi is an Advocate of the High Court with over 19 years’ experience in the energy sector, primarily in the geothermal industry.

Agnes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Legal Studies, a Bachelor of Law; Postgraduate Diploma in Law; Diploma in Insurance; Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Board Competence. She is a Certified Secretary and an Advocate of the High Court. She is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Secretaries.

Mr. Godfrey Shitsama

General Manager, Internal Audit & Risk Assurance

Mr. Godfrey Shitsama has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. He holds an MBA (Global Executive) From USIU Africa University/ Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He is a member of Institute of certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors of Kenya (IIA) and the Geothermal Association of Kenya (GAK).

Mr. Patrick Kapto

Manager, Supply Chain Management

Mr. Patrick K. Kapto is a Supply Chain Management expert with over eighteen (18) years wealth of experience in the Supply Chain Management both in the Public and Private sectors. He is a member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) in good standing. He joined GDC in June 2010 and is responsible for overseeing the Supply Chain Management which is a key strategic enabler and driver of the GDC business.
