Sonicator

The Sonicator is lab equipment that uses vibrational energy to agitate or digest particles in a sample or reagent for various purposes such as extraction, dissolution and degassing. The process applies sound or vibrational energy (ultrasonic frequencies > 20kHz) to agitate through a process called ultrasonication. In our geothermal laboratory, the equipment is used for the preparation of Ion Chromatograph eluent (reagent), degassing, and sample digestion for high silica analysis.
