East African Rift System

The East Africa Rift System (EARS) is one of the most extensive rift systems on earth, stretching roughly 6500 kilometres from Jordan to Mozambique and whose width ranges between 48-64 kilometres. The main branch, the Eastern Rift Valley, extends along the entire length of the EARS and is host to most geothermal fields and prospects found in Kenya.
