Basalt

Basalt is a finely crystalline, grey, porphyritic basic igneous rock containing essentially plagioclase feldspar and pyroxenes. It is a common extrusive rock forming simple to compound lava flows.

Basaltic lavas are common in the Northern Kenya Rift volcanic centers and are mostly erupted from a series of aligned fissures and scoria cones.
