The Geothermal Association of Kenya (GAK) Board of Directors paid a courtesy call to the GDC MD and CEO Mr. Paul Ngugi where they discussed the upcoming Kenya Geothermal Congress (KGC) 2024.
The Kenya Geothermal Congress, organized by GAK and its partners, serves as a vital platform for promoting the development of geothermal energy in Kenya. The 2024 edition aims to facilitate discussions on investments, policies, and industry best practices, positioning Kenya as Africa’s geothermal hub.
During the courtesy call, Mr. Ngugi congratulated GAK for its pivotal role in the geothermal space in Kenya and recognized the significance of the Kenya Geothermal Congress in showcasing Kenya’s strides in geothermal development. He emphasized that geothermal energy has the potential to propel Kenya towards becoming a middle-income economy, ensuring a high standard of living for all citizens in a clean and secure environment.
Mr. Ngugi reiterated GDC’s unwavering support for the Kenya Geothermal Congress, reaffirming GDC’s commitment as GAK’s patron to ensure the success of the congress and the achievement of its objectives. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between GDC and GAK in driving the advancement of geothermal energy in Kenya.
In response, the GAK directors expressed their gratitude to Mr. Ngugi and GDC for their longstanding relationship and support to the association. They also thanked GDC for its participation in the organizing committee of the congress. Both organizations pledged to work closely together to ensure the success of the Kenya Geothermal Congress 2024.
The 2024 Kenya Geothermal Congress is scheduled to commence on 16th July, 2024, at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, with field visits to geothermal sites in Kenya from 19th to 21st July, 2024.
