GDC has two (2) rigs currently drilling at the Prospect, a factor that will expedite the drilling of exploration wells in the region. With the two rigs now on site, drilling the initial three exploration wells in the Korosi region is expected to take a shorter time.

Korosi is one of three (3) prospects in the North Rift Region to be developed in phases, with the first phase of the project targeting 100MW from each of the prospect sites namely: Paka, Silali, and Korosi. In Paka, the first three exploration wells have been drilled and are currently being monitored by GDC’s Geothermal Resource Management (GRM) experts.

Baringo-Silali Geothermal Project is key to GDC, as it has a huge geothermal potential estimated at 3,000MW.
