Enhanced Geothermal System

An Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) is a type of geothermal energy technology designed to extract heat from the Earth’s interior, typically from hot rocks located deep beneath the Earth’s surface. Unlike conventional geothermal systems that rely on naturally occurring pockets of steam or hot water, EGS aims to enhance and extend the potential of geothermal energy by creating artificial reservoirs of hot water or steam.
