The desired resource can either be oil, gas or steam.&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Drilling can be done for the purposes of exploration, appraisal or development of a resource field. It is also done for well control, that is, to prevent formation fluid from getting into the well bore due to surrounding pressure. &amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.gdc.co.ke\/blog\/glossary\/drilling\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>drilling<\/a> is complete <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My contribution to the achievement of GDC mandate<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being able to determine the potential and output of each well in the geothermal field informs on the estimate power that can be supplied to the power plants and into the national grid <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Addressing the STEM gap<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There&rsquo;s a notion that science and technical courses are for men since they are viewed as tough. It&rsquo;s a wrong perception. Women and girls are capable of pursuing all careers including Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related careers.
