How did you get into engineering\/science?<\/strong><\/em>  I have always had a curious mind from a tender age. A curious eager mind, ready to explore is one of the qualities of a scientist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most memorable moment in your engineering\/science journey at GDC?<\/em><\/strong>  Collecting my first gas and water sample from the MW-01A well (Menengai Geothermal Project) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the future of geothermal energy in the world?<\/em><\/strong>  The future of humanity and our planet depends on our ability to embrace an energy source<\/a> that is reliable, sustainable and ecofriendly. Geothermal energy is clean and renewable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What message would you send to young women thinking of taking up engineering\/science courses and careers?<\/em><\/strong>  The world needs more women scientists and engineers. We need to encourage the future generations on the importance of studying science and engineering courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your mantra in life as a woman in science?<\/em><\/strong>  Science simplifies life for everybody. It has no gender. Gender should therefore not matter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which woman in Science do you admire most?<\/em><\/strong>  Dr. Rose Mutiso <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do you admire her?<\/em><\/strong>  Her zeal and the fact that she is making a positive difference in people’s lives. Her most recent work is focusing on the link between renewable energy, energy-efficient, and energy poverty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is also the Co-Founder and CEO of The Mawazo Institute, which supports the next generation of female scholars and thought leaders in East Africa. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
