Professional education?<\/em><\/strong> I studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you get into engineering\/science?<\/strong><\/em> I always wanted to be a pilot, somehow, that never happened. So, when it was time to revise university courses after high school under then Joint Admission Board (Now Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service) I chose Engineering and here I am today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most memorable moment in your engineering\/science journey at GDC?<\/em><\/strong> I was part of the team that worked on MW1A, the first directional well in the Menengai Geothermal Project and arguably the largest geothermal well in Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is nothing more satisfying than drilling<\/a> a well to completion, within time and budget, and seeing it productive. Seeing steam<\/a> gush out of MW1A well was, and for that matter still is, a memory to behold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the future of geothermal energy in the world?<\/em><\/strong> With the emphasis on renewable energy, geothermal energy has gained admiration.  Many countries have committed funds for geothermal development and research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, East\nAfrican neighbors have been at the forefront with Ethiopia drilling<\/a> in Aluto and\nUganda planning to drill temperature gradient holes in Kibiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What message would you send to young women thinking of taking up engineering\/science courses and careers?<\/em><\/strong> Follow your dream. Make a choice. Be the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) at it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your mantra in life as a woman in science?<\/em><\/strong> In everything you do, commit to offering your best. Serve humanity. Be kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which woman in Science do you admire most?<\/em><\/strong> I am currently looking up to Dr. Ngina, the youngest Ph.D. holder in Mathematics in Kenya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do you admire her?<\/em><\/strong> Besides her roller-coaster journey, her zeal and focus to impact and empower the youth are unmatched. I resonate with her energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
