GDC is ready for the international students who are coming to train in Kenya beginning Monday, May 21, 2018, organisers have reaffirmed.<\/p>\n

“We are expecting 22 students from 11 countries and we are ready to host them. We have secured trainers and facilities for the training period,” said Dr. Robert Ogutu, the Ag. Deputy Manager, Geothermal Centre of Excellence (GCE).<\/p>\n

Early this week, the GCE team organised a one-day Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop in Nakuru. The workshop was meant to prepare the trainers for the task ahead.<\/p>\n

“We organized for this session so that we can harmonize the course material from the trainers and different expectations that are likely to come out after the training,” Dr. Ogutu added.<\/p>\n

GDC and KenGen will provide facilitators for the nine-day training that will take place in Naivasha.<\/p>\n

“The two organizations will also facilitate field tours for practical sessions. The training is meant to enhance geothermal knowledge in the region,” said Dr. Ogutu.<\/p>\n

The TOT session in Nakuru was attended by representatives from KenGen, Ministry of Energy and UNEP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
