What measures GDC has taken toward environmental management in its projects?
The company has a dedicated Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Department with a clear mandate to enforce safe systems of work, conduct safety surveillance, and oversee environmental management in projects such as the Menengai and Baringo-Silali Geothermal Project.
We have an Environmental & Socio Management Plan (ESMP) that encompasses regulatory compliance, environmental impact assessments, waste management, noise levels, air quality, meteorology, pollution, as well as afforestation, restoration, and conservation work.
