Compressor man

A compressor man or compressor woman lines up air into or prevents air from flowing into the drill string, and safely diverts it out of the well. This is done when requested by the driller when making or breaking drill pipe connections. They also maintain a record of air parameters including flow rate, pressure, and temperature. The air is used to cool the drill bit and lift cuttings from the wellbore.
