Energy & Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Hon. Charles Keter has urged GDC to work hard on delivering on its targets. He said this last week when he met with the GDC Board of Directors and Management during a retreat in Naivasha.
The CS was accompanied by Energy Principal Secretary Eng. Dr. Joseph Njoroge.
Speaking at the retreat, Hon. Keter reiterated GDC’s strategic role in ensuring Kenyans get affordable and reliable energy.“We want GDC to succeed,” said Hon. Keter, “and we are here to assist you in any way we can. Our doors are always open,” he added.
In response, GDC Chairman Mr. Gershom O. Bw’Omanwa and GDC MD & CEO Eng. Johnson P. Ole Nchoe assured the CS and PS of their commitment to deliver on GDC’s targets as well as streamline various GDC processes.
GDC MD & CEO Eng. Johnson P. Ole Nchoe held a thanksgiving ceremony at his home in Narok County. The colorful event was presided over by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta. Distinguished guests from the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum included the Cabinet Secretary Hon. Charles Keter and the Principal Secretary in charge of Energy, Eng. Joseph Njoroge. GDC Chairman and the GDC Board of Directors graced the event that brought together senior government officials led by the CS for Interior Major General (Retired) Joseph Nkaiserry.
Political leaders from Narok, Kajiado, Kiambu and other parts of the country attended the events that saw thousands of Narok residents participate in giving God thanks for bestowing such a great honor to one of the Narok leaders, Eng. Ole Nchoe.
Welcome to the Africa Geothermal Centre of Excellence
GDC has setup the African Geothermal Centre of Excellence (AGCE). The Institute offers courses on all facets of geothermal technology including but not limited to drilling engineering, Geosciences (including Geology, Geochemistry, and geophysics), reservoir engineering, environmental management, HSE, steam-field management, project management and power plant engineering. The activities are aimed at building capacity for geothermal development in Africa. GDC already has a pool of experienced human resource in all areas of geothermal development and utilization. The Institute collaborates with the regional industry players and universities.
