Monday, January 23, 2017 - Transport services in Menengai Geothermal Project will now ease after the launch of two new 33 seater buses.
Speaking in Menengai during the launch, GDC Managing Director & CEO Eng. Johnson P. Ole Nchoe said the drilling crew will now travel in comfort and faster during change of shifts and picking from the Nakuru town to the project.
“I promised you new buses to that will facilitate easy transport within this operational area and today am here to fulfill it by officially flagging off these buses,” he said.
He called on the team to use them carefully. The drilling crew had been experiencing transport problems during shift change and the arrival of the two buses will speed up transportation to ensure a seamless operation during the changeover.
The MD said he remains steadfast and committed to achieving the set targets by the company and the buses will play a key role in realization of this by ensuring the team is always at their workstations on time.
“I call on every one of you to put in the best when you are on duty,” said Eng. Ole Nchoe. “We have a mandate that we need to deliver to Kenyans by ensuring they get cheap and reliable electricity. As management we shall endeavor to facilitate you so that we ensure that we achieve our targets,” he added.
Menengai is one of the key projects earmarked by the government for the Vision 2030.
