GDC, JICA to strengthen capacity development for growth

GDC and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will continue fostering partnership in order to improve capacity development for staff.

In a meeting held on Monday 5th November 2018 between GDC Managing Director & CEO Eng. Johnson P. Ole Nchoe and Mr. Eiji Wakamatsu (Senior Deputy Director Energy Mining Group, Industrial Development and Public Policy Department, JICA); the two shared the current status of GDC’s projects and discussed activities in relation to the project period.

The meeting, which was also attended by senior GDC managers and key officials from Jica, also discussed the remaining period of GDC-JICA Technical Capacity Strengthening Project. It was also agreed that JICA will also train GDC staff in areas of geo-sciences.

Mr. Wakamatsu made the courtesy call after attending the 2018 International Forum on Geothermal Technology which was held at Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
